Thursday the 24th I was @.....

.......San Marco USA for our Networking Happy Hour.

The last newtworking happy hour was at San Marco USA on May 24th and was a lot of fun. Not only is their new studio space a great backdrop for their historically rooted paints and plasters but Chris Lewis and Mike Aiken guarantee an educational and interesting visit.  Their space, located at 554 North Avenue, is primarily a workshop where custom paints, plasters, varnishes, lime washes and other finishes are created.  In addition, it is a place where artisans can come and actually apply San Marco products in order to learn how to properly use them.  It doubles as a retail facility for application tools like trowels and paint brushes. Interior Designers, like Beth Webb, Jackye Lanham and Nancy Duffey as well as Architects, Keith Summerour, Ryan Duffey, Peter block and Stan Dixon to name a few, have really embraced San Marco USA products.

I should add that the studio is also a reference library.  Chris has an archive of photos of historical examples of these finishes as applied hundreds of years ago.  Chris's photos include his well documented visits to Pompeii, Ercolano, and so many more places in Italy, where he lived for many years.

There are so many different products and so many ways they can be used.  They are aesthetically pleasing and healthy for you and your environment and virtually no maintenance when applied properly.

Keep them in mind for your next project and visit their blog at www.sanmarcousa.wordpress.com.
